Papayas: An efficient fat burner?

This superfood is a sweet, delicious all-rounder! It has a lot of vitamin C, makes cellulite disappear, helps reduce inflammation in the body and is particularly rich in antioxidants. We're talking about papayas.

The papaya originally comes from Central America. – It is now grown all over the world and is therefore available in our supermarkets all year round. Their pulp is full of important vitamins and minerals and contains significantly more beta-carotene than carrots. 

The enzyme papain it contains is also said to make cellulite disappear. It is also said to break down calcium deposits in the vessels, which means papaya is said to protect against thrombosis.

Their often neglected seeds also help with gastrointestinal problems and are successfully used in the treatment of intestinal parasites due to their antibacterial effects. According to an Australian study, papaya leaves can even curb the growth of cancer cells.

Our tip:

Although papayas are available in supermarkets all year round, their peak season is summer to autumn. The peel of the papaya should have an orange-red color when you buy it. Simply allow papayas that still have a few yellow spots to ripen for a few more days.
